Al Franken may be a highfalutin U.S. Senator from Minnesota now, but there are a few of us that remember him from days past. He was Stuart Smalley on Saturday Night Live, then he wrote several great books, then he had an excellent show on the Air America Network. This was all before he rose to the lofty position he holds today.
Being the good politician that he is, he doesn't do national media now, so I don't see much of him, except when he brings some Republican to heel. But I still remember when he used to draw the USA map from memory at the beginning of his show. Yes, it was radio, but some obscure cable TV station showed a video version and that was the intro.
I couldn't find that particular version, but here he is doing it again. It became a bit of a parlor trick. You might want to mute the sound.
