Our government gathers a lot of statistics. That is one of the many things government is good for. Here, the NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center has gathered the information to show how things went last winter - was there more or less precipitation than usual. And Climate Watch Magazine made this map to show us what it means. A lot of the country did pretty well and got more than usual.
Of course, too much rain or snow has its down side. But worse is drought. A lot of areas got less than average - pretty much all of California, Oregon, Washington, and most of several other states. That's not good. A lot of our food supply comes from these states. Let's hope next year is better.
